Arghh just loaded the truck up for a trip away only to find the dam battery is flat. Just giving it an hours charge before trying it again. Thing is it's blocking the other car in so I'm stuck for a while

Any ideas what amp battery to get as a replacement

oh man:doh don't start the leisure battery debate again:augie

Well I've made it to my hotel happy days. Ended up whilst it was having an hours charge I swapped the battery from my wifes truck imstead. Crazy thing is that the wifes truck started on the button no problem:nenau

Anyhoo my project truck started and driven up here to Skipton without issue.

Wife has blamed me for messing with the electrics over the last few days. I fitted a leisure battery as a second battery several months ago but never really did the electrics neatly. So as I'm off this week I've got myself a nice plastic box and screwed it to the inside of the boot complete with sockets switches and a volt meter. Not really sure why this would flatten the battery as nothing really changed and it was fine yesterday and all the work was sunday and monday. Anyhoo to be on the safe side I have removed the fuse between the two batteries. I have one of those sensing split charge controller gadgets and as I don't think it really should handle 30 amps as it says on the box I stuck a relay in circuit with a 15amp fuse.

Will take a look on Friday when I'm back home.

SO you saying I could use a leisure battery to start with out problem??

Just to remind you, don't go by "Marine Cranking Amps" as used for boats, these values appear much higher than true car Cold Cranking Amps, because they use a different test criteria.
