Well my battery has finally died, I was able to bring it back a few times with my charger but tonight, after being on charge from yesterday morning... nothing, just click! click!

Tried the battery from our Fiesta and she fired straight away, so new battery time.
Mind, not bad as the old battery (which is tiny) has a sticker saying it was charged on 30/11/04 so 10 years old.

I know there has been threads on here about batteries, but not able to find them, so what do you guys think I should go for, it's a 3.0 if that makes any difference.

Battery Choice

If you shop around on e-bay and battery websites you will find some good deals some even have 5 year warranty.

If you are keeping the motor for 5 years or more I personally would go for an Absorbed Gas Matt technology one you pay more but they last and hold charge well.

Second choice would be calcium type such as Alphaline amongst many others.

Cheap and cheerful I would go for an old fashioned wet acid type that you can top up with dissy water.

Just go for an amp hour and cold cranking amps specification to match the factory original.

Right, I have had a look on Euro car parts and they have Lion, Exide and Bosch at 25% off

Check the spec

I would check the actual specification on the Bosch they are listing as they make all three basic types including Gell types.
I put a Bosch from Euro Car Parts on my BMW Mini and it lasted one week after the warranty expired ! (3yrs)

Thanks, I will have a look at the ones you pointed out :thumb2

To be honest get the biggest and cheapest you can find, the golden rule is do not flatten it beyond 11.7 volts (off load) cos any lower and it will not recover 100%, please do not be misled by manufacturers specs that give charge time for a 100% flat battery (10.5 volts) this is just an example of charge time and not a suggestion that you can go that low with the discharge, if you motor starts quickly and you do not otherwise abuse the battery it should last 10 years or more, no matter what type it is, Rick
