Do a ground up rebuild they said
It'll be fun they said
All day on electrics, harnesses, glow plug issues. Firkin' rear fog light.
MOT now Sat am :doh
Onwards :stupid
Yeah but before that I needed to sort my camber out
Top arm needed massahoosive shims to sort it. I found some 5.4mm thick ones. Cut a slot in them so I could do a quick slip in job :thumbs
Stuffed in behind top arm like this
Then a quick redneck steering alignment . String please :stupid
Adjust back a tad for tiddly bit of toe in.
Stick the grill in the hole to keep the sheep out :freak3:
Assorted other jobs like finding a spare wheel, strapping in some tools and a sleeping bag , before finally making it to bothy land :hide:
and relax :splif
Back in the unit and continuing the Black Pearl build.
Winch needed wiring up again as the old solenoid was not playing ball
Replaced it and had to work out the new wiring format. Eventually got it sussed
It's mounted up reasonably high, it's waterproof and close enough to battery . I've also fitted the wander lead socket to the light surround :sly
Grill back on again and as you can see, there's plenty of room :thumbs
Nice n neat but not had time to refit the right hand bit of grill yet. I fancy making that bit slide up out the way of the winch clutch :naughty
Pretty minimalist overhang I reckon. Probably less than stock bumper :clap
Need to get the synthetic rope out the garage soon too, if I can find it :augie
