Damn it I've lost my winker

Another test drive and all 4x4 and lokka are A OK :D

Onwards :naughty

That's looking awesome Pete :thumb2

I like the guard you have at the front covering the horrible cross member underneath the front bumper, is that something you've fabricated yourself or an off the shelf you purchased from somewhere?

You need a new grille as well matey boy, that one is awful, how about a chrome one with and mint Ford Badge :nenau :lol

The bash guard I had made same time as the bumper. All 6mm steel 😀
Grill. Yes it's mingling innit but chrome
I'll think of something :lol

What about making a new one out of the thin solid metal bits that you'll see on fences and some flat bar???

I used electricians tray for the blitz its very strong & already has the holes for venting just needs welding in & some black paint.

Meanwhile aside from the fuel tank build , I've scavenged a Nissan grill and am about to makeitfit :D

It's close but no cigar, so a bit of fibre glass action me thinks .

Also on the job list tonight is my 2nd battery tray install.
I've had a bit of 2mm bent to suit and will weld that in tomorrow so I can refit all the rear deck :thumbs

Fuel tank is pretty much done and nearly ready to fit :naughty

Onwards

Another option Pete, I got headlight surrounds that go with your grill, in blue too, Rick

I thought about that but I don't like the little gay eye brows on the nissan ones :augie
It's the customiser in me :doh
Thanks though Rick :thumbs

Had some more hours on the Pearl today. Everything is being a pain just now :(
However in the middle of pressure testing the tank I did a bit of grill modding :D
Take one Nissan grill and remove the wings. Clamped on a couple of wheel arch repair panels that are remarkably close to the final shape I need.

Merc sprinter arches :lol

A bit of masking tape on my G clamps so I don't get them covered in resin.

Cut to size some glass matt .

My resin was a bit old and gloopy so not the best lay up I've done :augie

Luckily it went off OK , and I got the old metal bits off too :thumb2

Here's the basic GRP extension done. It'll be fine once I get the filler on it :)

First trial fit of the extended grill is remarkably good if I say so myself :sly

Not the most important job at the mo but I likes it
Then we found a bloody hole that I thought was an old cable grommet hole but was in fact a scab :doh
Fuse box off, cables off etc anyway here's the finished patch :clap

Other jobs were the rear sunroof drains now fixed externally.
Battery tray welded in and painted.
Trouble was I was doing it  only blew a few holes :lol

Penetration was OK though, as I found out and needed more underseal to recover it

Ready for some battery wiring now , just need to find the ruddy solenoid kit now :augie

Fuel tank has at last been successfully pressure tested. I'll be painting that in the morning .
Onwards

Tweaked the front bumper some more tonight as I wasn't happy with the return to wing bits.
Cut n shut and reweld. I needed a 2 ton ratchet strap to close the ends up enough :clap
Nissan grill glassed up to now blend with the maverick light surrounds.

Diagnostics done today too and all is OK.
Just need the glow plugs changing.
Harnesses found and none of them match
Looks like red and blue for the weekend then :doh
MOT Friday :freak3:

Would be ok if I didn't have work to do too  Just got back from the unit half an hour back. 11 hours on site 3 on the truck. The ratio is poo

Deffo poo, I started at 10 this morning fitted 8 base units in two runs cut WT to length and loose fitted, cut lecy boxes in and run cables plus few other odd bits, as plasterers back tomorrow, for their penultimate day finished at 3, got guy in tomorrow to hang wall units and fit 30 mt 7 inch skirting, tiler in on Monday to tile kitchen floor and walls WT to underside of wall units, come Tuesday when I return I will have a guy in to hang 6 doors in frames that are nothing like modern standards, I will have a boiler and full CH to install, full bathroom to fit including repair floor with two bad joists, 10 light roses to fit and switches plus complete two ring mains and lots of fiddly bits and have to be out by the first, I will let you know if I make it, Rick

Just been for wiper blades. Fuel filter. Repeater lense acquired. On wheel camber next. Then some string alignment action. Fairy lights in the dash . Insurance done.
