Had some more hours on the Pearl today. Everything is being a pain just now
However in the middle of pressure testing the tank I did a bit of grill modding
Take one Nissan grill and remove the wings. Clamped on a couple of wheel arch repair panels that are remarkably close to the final shape I need.
Merc sprinter arches :lol
A bit of masking tape on my G clamps so I don't get them covered in resin.
Cut to size some glass matt .
My resin was a bit old and gloopy so not the best lay up I've done :augie
Luckily it went off OK , and I got the old metal bits off too :thumb2
Here's the basic GRP extension done. It'll be fine once I get the filler on it
First trial fit of the extended grill is remarkably good if I say so myself :sly
Not the most important job at the mo but I likes it
Then we found a bloody hole that I thought was an old cable grommet hole but was in fact a scab :doh
Fuse box off, cables off etc anyway here's the finished patch :clap
Other jobs were the rear sunroof drains now fixed externally.
Battery tray welded in and painted.
Trouble was I was doing it
only blew a few holes :lol
Penetration was OK though, as I found out and needed more underseal to recover it
Ready for some battery wiring now , just need to find the ruddy solenoid kit now :augie
Fuel tank has at last been successfully pressure tested. I'll be painting that in the morning .
