where abouts on bosch pump, how easy to identify.how easy to get too with hands like shovels.

This is the banjo circled in RED on the Zexel pump (This is a Nissan TD27 engine I was working on) but it's in virtually the same position on the Bosch one too.I can undo and remove it without removing anything but it is tricky as there are 2 small washers either side of the banjo which can get lost..............I use a magnet which you can buy which looks like a pen and is telescopic which I use to pull the banjo bolt out with while holding the small washers (Which aren't magnetic)with the other hand .Probably best to move the power steering pump to one side to get to it a lot easier if you can ............and use a socket with loads of extensions on it to reach down in and undo the bolt(Bit restricted for movement when down there)When you have the bolt out cover the open hole with some clean rag or at least don't under any circumstances get any grit or dirt in the open hole OR you will have problems(I have seen the state of some people's engine bays and it would be impossible to stop crap getting in the hole when working)I would clean and dry the area off first especially if it's dirty around your pump .....Take your time..keep it clean and you'll have no problems

P.S Keep plenty of rag handy and stuff some under the pump too as diesel will escape when the union is undone ..Don't do the bolt up too tight when refitting either
