Inbetween the very welsh rain today I stuck my no. plate on the door.
Gave up trying to find a Mistral one so just screwed the plate to the door. Got an old transit no. plate light and fitted that just above the plate in a vain attempt to keep the boys in blue off my case:eek:
So tomorrow I can at last trim that huge great back bumper:thumbs

More shots of the fitting etc on photobucket if you want to see:D

it moves way on past any driving offense. and i recon you'd be looking at a short stay in one of her majesty's holiday camps, with bonus new husband. so be warned:eek::hmh:eek::hmh:eek::hmh

cracking light pete, may i copy you ?

It's out there mate, 'ave it:thumbs
I'll be doing my version of your extreme air tomorrow if the *$*$* weather will ease up:eek:

well put a pic of the scoop on then

also mind the structural parts in the roof and the sun roof.... not a lot of room in there buddy

I know, I got all the interior stripped out today ready for a bit of er jacking!
Got a mate with a huge pump action car straightener:augie Going to sort my dents:D
No pics till it's in:sly

its a big step. you might regret it:doh:lol:lol:lol:augie

come on just a little one you know you should pal

Like that!!
Quick tip, when you take it for a mot, take the spare wheel off, if it covers the plate at all, a mate who runs a mot station showed me the new rules that came in in april, the plate can not have any obstruction at all. ;)

i was thinking about putting some lights into the wheel cover. but not sure how or where to get the power from?

so where you pull your power from and how you get it into the door?

Hmm, is that viewed from any angle or just from behind?
As pretty much all the 4x4s I looked at up the scrap yard had no. plates on the doors AND had spare wheels:nenau
Suppose I could put the old plate on if the new rules are that daft:thumbs
Mine is clear of the plate by the way if viewed from the rear:cool:

Zippy all you need is a bit of wire to piggy back on to your tail light. Left hand side is easy as thats where the loom is. Then poke the wire through the gland on the door, simples:thumbs
Pick up your earth off the wiper, job done:D

From the way I read it, any obstruction to the plate from veiw is a no no.. :nenau

Ay that explains it, clear as mud:cool:
At the end of the day it says, anything that obstructs the view of the plate that was not passed when any vehicle passed it's mandatory test before going onto our roads ie tow balls, bike racks, is nolonger allowed, so moving the plate onto the door comes under the same rule, if anything is in it's way for seeing then it's a mot failure + Pod can/will pull us and find us on the spot.£30 last time I was pulled.

Curses rules:confused:
How can the Mistral be ok then, or will all door mounted plate 4x4s now be £30 tokens for plod ?
There's always summat:doh
