Hello Guys :)

I have manual AVM hubs on my 1999 T2. Any info anywhere as how to take them off and put them back on? Thing is there is a bit of play on the right front wheel bearings. Is it possible to adjust this and if so do i need any special tools for it. Pics below.

I know the discs have to be changed soon:D

Male Torx (not sure of size) for the 6 small bolts on the front of the hub, be careful with them. :doh
Pull the outer part off.:thumb2

Allen key is needed for back half of hub (again not sure of size) and just pull that off. That's it, nice and easy! :thumbs

Thanks Mick,

So it should not be really complicated i guess. I hate taking things i don't know apart without a manual:)

Cheers

Thanks "96" mate. Anyway it gives me look inside but this one is the auto hub i guess.

Anyone who knows about the wheel bearing? Is it possible to adjust/tighten a bit and doe it require special tools?

Regards, Lars

Wheel bearings are easy, once the hub is of you will see two x head screws remove these and the multi hole plate, now you have the bearing nut with the wheel off the ground turn it clock wise with something like a small screwdriver in one hole only until there is no play, then offer the plate back and align two holes for the screws then remove it again and tighten one further hole replace plate and locking screws, this gives the bearing a small preload, Rick

Nice one Rick. That's good news indeed. Do you know if there's any tricks to the AVM manual hub, or is also straight forward?

Thank you for your time mate.

Regards, Lars
