So what’s everyone getting up to this weekend?

My poor wife is laid up after hurting her knee so I’ve got a shopping trip to do which I am not looking forward to. Then I’ll probably make a start on sound deadening and insulation in my van.

Pulling the engine out of the Maverick this afternoon then re arranging the shed to fit my fresh delivery of parts from Banshee's breaker services.

Going to Chester to see daughter on Sunday.

Having not been over to Chester since February as have had to cancel twice due to my health issues we will finally be going in the morning!

I have managed with the help of my GP to better manage some of my symptoms until I see the Cardiology Consultant at the end of next month. Just hoping that he can offer something to improve my condition short of open heart surgery.

Job done :thumb2

I did a trip up to Derby to Elty's place last night after work. I loaded the trailer up with all the doors off my breaker and bonnet and rear door. Some other parts that Elty has managed to shift for me too. Got home at 11:30pm last night and then dived straight in bed to not emerge until 11am this morn, what a lie in

Got to it this afternoon and have been sorting and cleaning and organising parts in the garage into cabinets and cupboards. I'm really really starting to get a bit of an obsession for breaking and storing parts :naughty

Just about to pop out in a sec to pick our curry up and then chill tonight :splif

More of the same tomorrow, then I may have some space to finally make a start on repairing the Patrol engine

Well I went to test drive a van for a camper conversation and ended up buying it so I'm going to be busy over the winter, this is my base

Looks like you've started something Jim.
I best crack on with my camper project or I will get left behind, no wait a minute mines a 4x4 nissan so will be leading the way :thumbs

Hey wheelie, yours is bigger than mine what can I say.

Oh man this is gonna be good camper forum :lol:lol

Hey elty, you get best of both worlds mate :thumbs

Tidy looking Van - clean exterior panels.

That's well tidy for a commercial vehicle - they usually get pretty dinged outside unless they have been fitted out inside with plywood protection.

Heavy rain today so probably have a go at sticking sound deadening to the panels of the van today and maybe a little insulation too.

I need to get my project truck undercover too as the drivers footwell is rather moist and stinks, funny how my wife will drive the thing and not tell me about anything that needs looking at

It is lined with pvc sheets, but yes it's in good nick, 80,000 miles, a good base to start the project. It's not going to be your standard camper with all the fitted kitchen, toilet etc it will be used in a similar way to the patrol but with storage and a comfy bed. There will be power, lighting, heating etc to make the camping more comfortable

Hi Jim, I have seen some of his videos already, very good and has all the tools as well, I'm not going for that standard as I don't have the skills, time or money, as long as it's functional and 1/2 decent. Agreed lots of advice and tips though
Cheers

Project threads inbound I reckon :thumbs

Are you a bit heavy hearted selling your troll? Looks a great motor does that.

Yeah very. I have to put the wife before the patrol though. I wish I could afford both.i have spent a small fortune keeping it up together mechanically and structurally and I won't get that back which is why I've decided to sell it as overland ready with all the paraphernalia that goes with it. If I can't get a decent price then I'll strip it all off and either use it on the van or sell it separately. Then just sell the patrol as a truck

The novelty of this rain malarkey has worn off!!

I’ve been out under the leaking car port and found a blocked down pipe which is now sorted but the air is so damp and dingy I just can’t be bothered with anything.
