hi all New to the site & not too good on pc yet? have lost 4 wheel drive (mistral 2.7 td swb auto, import 96 model ) read some of the postings for the info, stripped the hubs & found the drive? braker rings? inside knackered as indicated on the postings. does anyone know where i can obtain said rings? Milner dont do em. many thanks

auto hubs

dare i say it but try ebay fore breakers

i wouldnt go for seconf hand rings they are waer and tear items, i would scrap the hubs and fit manuals, but thats only my opinion!

ive read, on here, that some poeple have spent moner repairing there auto hubs only to swop formanual hubs a bit later,

so what Plank says is good advice..

£20 wasted then...

Nissan sell them as a brake set - free runn part # 40257 - 7F000.
Hope this helps.:thumb2

many thanks chaps, looks like manual hubs then, (come pay day).

The manual ones work out at about £30 more then the rings.:doh as I found out abit late.

If buying new rings, ford sell (or did anyway until recently you will have to check now) the same rings in nissan boxes quicker and cheaper, there aretwo different sets and the change over is in the middle of 'n' reg if that makes sense (regrdless of any face lifts head ligh changes etc.) so be sure to get the right ones.

Though I have found from experience (just like the rings infor above) that there is often a hub problem that makes the new rings a waste of money, insspect the edges of the hub casting for chips etc first, and for stifness in its action, there used to be downloads for a hub strip and clean and regrease, and for the ford / nissan part numbers for the 2 different sets of rings.

after saying all that i would (again from experience) bin them and get manuals, if your autos are working, then fine keep them, but I wouldn tspend money on brake rings as you may well be wasteing time, efort and cash. Just get the AVM's , job done!
