So in my quest for a Terrano, the next question..... Is the auto box a reliable one? What else is it fitted to, and is the box the same on the 2.7 and 3.0 ?

I can cope with less mpg on the auto, but not with massive bills if the auto box fails :)

A manual box I can get overhauled if it fails, I reckon a failed auto box would be a replacement....

If youre going to do much towing would go for manual. auto can tow much less weight

maybe a halfords trailer now and again :)

although, my wife, she wants a caravan.....

Dont forget the 2.7 is a veggie

The 3 dino only

2.7tdi max trailer weight 1700kg, 3.0tdi 2000kg. versus 2800 and 3000 for manuals.

1700 will pretty much any uk caravan twin axle, though others have noticed wasnt
enough for their horsebox or tipper trailers.
