Hello all
In my workshop manual it's only got Manual gear box change.

I want to change the auto transmission fluid (or oil) but would like a recommendation

excuse me as I've never done it before.

Thank you paly

You have saved me a lot of headache. I can get on and do it now.

Their is a lot more to DIY mechanic than i thought.

Best regards paly

No problems my friend

Word to the wise and a tip I was passed on many years ago by Elty, always make sure that you can open the refill plug before you go and drain the fluid from either, otherwise you're stuffed if you can't get fluid back in and need the truck in a hurry :thumb2

That's a very helpful tip Banshea.

Thanks again paly

From what I've read online from a few different sources, you only need to pay close attention to stuff like that if you have a Ford or a John Deere :lol

Possibly bro but better to have the right stuff as the wrong kind of ATF can trash the box :nenau

Been a common problem for the Aussies as Japan Dexron ratings are slightly different than the ones in Oz (Trols use the same gearbox just a HD version).

A problem often forgotten with auto transmission is that the new oil needs to be the same as what is in the box, this is because all the old oil cannot be drained,(it is rare for the fluid flywheel to have a drain plug) this means that you will be mixing old and new, if they are different then problems are likely, Rick
