Just something my 96 Terrano is doing is that when traveling on the road doing 90-100 km on flat road the trans shifts up then down intermittently I don t move the accelerator for this to happen, Mine is a 3.2 ltr petrol and trans oil is up to the mark and very clean red colour, please any ideas. And I am not towing any tralier.

Sounds like you are driving around the rev range where the auto can't decide what gear it wants if you increase your speed a few more Kms it should solve it or use the "Hold" button on the ATM switch.

Thanks rossco I found that switch was set to off and put it to Hold and works very good now. cheers

Hi mate, I run a 1995 Mistral 2.7TD Auto and frequently use the "Hold" switch. What you will have to remember is that in the "HOLD" position, you will not have "Kickdown" .... so flooring the throttle will only result in a slower acceleration, as she will hold the higher gear ...... so if you need acceleration to overtake something, switch to the "off" mode .... accelerate past using the kickdown facility ... then once past and safe ... switch back to "HOLD".
All the best, Matt.
