went offroading sat and failed (see other post) since then my auto lockers have been clicking, stick it in 4wd stops clicking,

had them to bits to refitted, snap rings ect ok,

went for a drive clicking in 2wd, so reversed, it stoped clicking, tried 4wd, started clicking again, reversed in 2wd stops, go over a speed bump around 20mph starts clicking again

time for some new lockers?

if i fit manuel ones, does that mean every time i got offroad ill need to get out and flick them over?

Sounds like one of the rings is damaged to me may even be distorted or the spring is damaged and picking up every so often.

Manual lockers will mean you getting out to engage them but if you are out laning just going in and out of 4wd will be fine as the axle will not be driven. The lockers will just turn the front diff via the road wheels, when back on the road on the way home you can put them out, this will reduce drag through not having the front diff turning and save you fuel.

is there anyway to disable the auto lockers so i can still use the car?

Yes take the rings out and your in permanent 2wd, so no muddy lanes for you, unless you have 2 Landys for company LOL

Taking the spring and the brake ring A out from the locker should be enough, you could take the brake ring B off of the half shaft as well if you wanted

some photos, iv uploaded to photobucket so they can be larger :p
