Hi,
Would really appreciate any help/advice on this.
I was driving approx 50mph, suddenly there's a loud whooshing/whirring noise. I stopped immediately and called out a local garage. Driving the car very slowly produced a clackety clack sound. Side of road diagnosis was collapsed o/s free wheel hub. Car was then driven 4 miles to garage.
I now have the car back with the hub internals in a box. The hubs appear to be in different positions (will try to get photos on here). The brake ring on the n/s looks damaged.
Garage suggests 2 new hubs but they don't know how this happened.
Is it possible this has been caused while driving in 2wd?
One of the brake rings was replaced many years ago as it was in 2 pieces, only discovered when trying to select 4wd and we didn't have any!
