hi, i`m gonna sound daft as usual on here. i was checking my oil and there is a red dipstick behind oil dipstick is that the auto transmission fluid ? if so it was reading min where do you top it up ? it`s a terrano 2 tdi auto 51 reg.

as you can probably tell i`ve not got a owners manual for it yet , that would stop me coming on and asking daft questions all the time i guess :)
 
you top it up through the dipstick tube :thumb2

did you check when cold ...... or hot ?

thanks for getting back to me, i`d drove about 5 miles just before i checked it and it was just below the cold min mark, auto box is working fine i just wanted to make sure it stays that way.

sounds like it might need topping up , run it till it gets hot then check again ,give it a decent run to give it time to get hot

there is a guide to checking auto fluid levels in the downloads / links section..... its for a mistral , but similar idea :thumb2

atf fluid should be a nice cherry red colour if ok

Dont forget you need to check it with the engine running in Park Position. I use Fuchs Dexron 3 as its half the price of the Nissan one.
