Are these any good?

Just wondered if these racks are any good, says its a paddy hopkirk one.

I have tried several roof bars/racks on my LWB Mav, since I don't have the factory roof bars, most of them do not grip the recommended points ( edge of roof, very well, and a quick twist and the rears come undone.
If yours had been a SWB then where do the fixings go.
Be sure it will fit your car first. I have not tried the Paddy Hopkirk ones so can't comment on them.

Any roof rack/cross bars create a horrible humming noise and will increase fuel consumption. So take them off when not required, you can't keep this in the boot just in case you might need them while you are out.

Just my thoughts.

can't you use some u bolts or similar and fix it to the roof rails? I had one on a suzuki vitara held down to the roof rails with big thick cable ties it worked very well.

can't you use some u bolts or similar

the u bolt from an exhaust clamp? exhausts come in all sorts of sizes :thumbs

Take some pics of it resting on your roof & then we can shed more light on fitting :thumbs
Been looking at images & i dont think it would be worth removing the origional bars :thumbs

Think the exhaust clamp is a top idea :thumbs

offer it up with some cable ties & get some pics up :thumbs
