Hi,
I've a 2.7tdi intercooler se t2. Guy at my garage told me there's two diff ones, I've only seen one online (which looks like mine too) but now he's cast doubt on the matter. Is there a diff between tdi and td (i'd of thought not)

Ryan

TBH I don't know, but I know the gearboxes are different on the TD & TDI so I would think it might be possiable :?

ta sweety,
Checked the numbers off the side of starter, solenoid and housing when i got back one of them matched some numbers they'd listed on the site so touch wood it'll be the one, seem like one step forwards three steps back at mo with it, trying to get it upto scratch for a bit of rough stuff but i keep getting knocked back (at least i won't catch the exhaust on any rutts! as the back box is no more!! )

Cheers Ryan

Tubbs had starter motor problem last year in spain T2 2.7 TDI and changed starter motor. New motor was different to original and it worked fine.

If I remember old was bosch and new hitachi. New one was the type you see on ebay.

what do you mean different in appearance? Was it a different colour? did it look new? Did it look physically different?

What I meant was the body and solenoid was the same but the end with the pinion was different, same number of teeth

New one looked like this one on ebay.

What I was saying in my posts is both types will work. Nose cone or no nose cone it makes no difference. It is just from a different manufacturer.

Cheers for all your help everyone
