Anyone interested in lift springs for Terrano/Maverick

I'll get some prices srted in the new year.

Am looking to do a similar lift myself but will be making the bits rather than buying em from the states - especially with current exchange rates.

Do you have the fitting instructions I dowloaded them straight from trailmaster themselves and the kit seems ok to fit, the only problem I see is dropping the differential onto there bracket, not sure how easy that part is, I was going to asm my local mechanic to fit it, specialist lesiure they opted to fit it for £1500 including the kit, i think its a little expensive

I've been thinking about it for some time and have had a good look underneath. I don't think anyone part of the front end lift will be difficult, its just that you have to undo a lot of stuff before you can start reattaching anything - so that the whole front suspension is dropped down as one piece.

I can have a word with my man in Rotherham (see good garage thread) I'm sure he'd fit any kit supplied for a far better rate than any of the so called specialists. Having had a quick look at the instructions I reckon it could be done in a day.

Have you any experience on what percentage import duty we have to pay on these items. I know it is value + duty + VAT but have never managed to work out what % the duty is charged at.

If you do go down the import and fit in UK route I could arrane to have all the parts galvanized which has to be the thing to do with em.

Hiya Simon, glad you got the instructions ok, I was pricing the kit and it seems expensive with postage, about $900, I might see if I can get it shipped to Ireland and the guys down south will send it up as they don't have to pay import duty or something. I have had stuff shipped before like that and saved money on tax lol. I will try it then and see what happens and let you know. If that chap you talked about could fit the kit that would be great and we could organise a mini meet or something when I am over that far.

Did a rough price for the kit plus exhaust mod and it came to £1200 including delivery. But I think if I get it sent to Ireland we don't have to pay the tax, could get one sent over and see, and let you know might be the cheaper option for you as well.

looks like i will have to start saving the pennies for one of them
this my truck so far with the 2" springs from simom.

was hoping to do a body lift later in the year.

Looks fantastic, nice looking tyres as well, I think I am deciding not to go with the 4" kit as it seems not worth it for an extar inch and besides money is a little tight. Please do not go to Supertrux for the body lift as they forgot to re connect stuff and we nearly had an accident on the way home, you can get the body lift from milner off road if you can get somebody to fit it for you.

i was going to do the lift myself when the weather gets a bit warmer.have seen the kits on milners website but not had chance to nip in and see what you actually get for the money.
tryes are maxxis buckshot mudders.a crimbo pressie from the mrs.have yet to try them off road but have heard good reviews of them plus they wasn't too expensive(£57.30 each inc vat):thumbs

All being well i will have shocks to go with the springs (or without if you want to stay standard) quite soon, just waiting on prices and availability.

Will be getting

Front shocks - suit standard and lifted.

Rear shocks - suit standard and those with +2" +20% SWN/LWB springs

+2" Rear shocks - suit +2" std rate SWB springs - will need dislocation cones or check straps to use with +2" +20% springs.

Also Extended rear brake lines coming soon to suit +2" rear shocks.

Also if I get some LWB +2" springs will they be giving me more lift if used on the SWB?
If I cut off the bump stops should I have longer shocks again?:bow

No, nothings changed in the last hour since I posted the above.

Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it - theres no way you can get the front up that far to match bu just adjusting the torsion bars, the ride would be really hard too. Also you won't get any bigger tyres in by lifting it like that so what is the point - the dif will still be as low as before.

Which bump stops but generally speaking no.
