I'm looking for a 13000lb rated winch. Terrano fittings a bonus :lol

Need an electric winch for legality reasons. Steel front bumper requires an integral winch :doh

Cut the plastic front bumper back so it fits on top of the steel front bumper & spray it black if you wanted will fill the gaps at the sides of the wing & give more of a factory look plod would prob no notice the 3 Tonnes of steel bumpers:lol

Lol good idea but doesent help me for legality reasons if I'm involved in a crash or something.

From what I have gathered it must have a winch on the front bumper to be classed as an "equipment bumper"

13000lbs is quite high rated for a Terrano especially if you're not planning to use it. Rule of thumb is around 1.5 x the vehicle's loaded weight so 9000lbs would be plenty big enough especially if you have a snatch block to hand.

My winch and the one Fez picked up are both 9000lbs.

I would hate to get caught out and not be able to winch myself free!!

That's lost on me I'm afriad. It's a shame though, my winch is cool, it's very heavy (and heavy duty) lol

I bought it for 250 with all the kit. Perhaps I should put it back up for 250?

I have had 3 blocks to two trees at Slindon and only just got out with a 13k winch = nearly 40k pull, but when I go in it is not for samples, but that is what it is about, I love winching, Rick

Have you tried using it yet Alex, they are quite slow and lots of pumping action is required :augie
