ye me again ,the problem ive had has been on off since i had the car but now seems to be off in a sense, when i would park on the kerb sometimes after driving off the drivers indicator reaer would not work and the dash would flash and tick fast as if wen bulb fails but drive down the road and it woyuld correct itself ,well its doing the same now but not correcting itself, ive checked bulbs all working loose connections etc ,but just left with no reaer indicator and annoying flashiung fast the rest , all connections tight all bulbs working so any suggestions is this common is the somewhere i should look in particular?? answers on a postcard please.

id look for a bad earth , check for corrosion on bulb holder etc

hazard switch

if its anything like the patrols/skylines and 200sx's i'd try hazard switch the indicators go through there and they tend to get dust in them and occasionally fall apart inside

But if the other bulbs are flashing on that side then it won't be the hazzard switch, good thought though.

Briggie is right, check the earth, if you have a meter check if there is 12 volts at the bulb holder whilst flashing, if so, then bad earth.

Take care with this measurement, one slip and you may blow a fuse, so insulate the sides of the probe just in case, and use a known earth for the other side of the meter, not the bulb holder.

Paddy a friend of mine was helping me test my indicators...

Now they're working....

Now they're not...

bad earth at the back.. they get all the much from the road thrown at them...

good clean up and lashing of WD40 should see you right

works on mine

Bulbs all correctly oriented?

found the source of the problem all sorted ,it was the actual moulded white plastic piece the bulb sits in no connection going on in there but as you know you cant get into it so i by passed it drilled a hole in it and made my own connection and hey presto back to normal ,its a wonder how they go wrong because the wires cannot sli in and out must just be corroded inside but its moulded plastic but nothing surprises me with this terrano .:clap:clap:clap:clap

a couple of mine are the same... previous owner had really butchered them (indicator and side light) about.... so I have resoldered new wires to the pins as the previous owner has cut all the bulb holders apart :eek: to find the break in the wire... looks like they corrode inside the plastic:confused:... I have refurbished the holders and then used silicon sealand to rebuild the backs to stop the water.... If the wiring loom was not so butchered I would just have replaced the holders but no... complete bodge job there too where the loom plug joins the light cluster :doh

Still it works fine so what you cant see doesnt hurt :naughty

Changing a failed buld could re start the problems though.

There should be some spare holders around.

I must admit, having seen these issues earlier in life.....I put vaseline in the holder, or even waxoyl, and have never had any issues with it yet.
Did I ever mention I have had this vehicle for 16 + years....:doh

I might update my avatar
