Just being serious for a mo, a couple of things - firstly you need to book well in advance if you want to get track time (in 2004 - yes five years ago - they had 600-odd vehicles wanting to do it apparently), plus, although it takes 45 minutes to get through, thats all there is to do.....nothing else challenging around, so if you want to drive all that way to camp on an airfield and drive in the mud for 45 minutes I'd say knock yourselves out :augie
...unless we went on to Salisbury Plain with Uncle Zippy afterwards :sly:naughty
Well i'm up for anything & am ok with you & anybody else from that neck of the woods to take over the post :thumbs
It cant just be that there must be other stuff to do to

no seriously Adz, its a working military airfield and they just blag a corner of it for the event with the course you see in the vid. There will be stands and bits of entertainment no doubt, but if you're travelling there for loads of offroading you won't get a whole lot of it other than a pre-booked jaunt or two on the course.

Do we now start a new Thread & link this 1 to it
not looking to take the thread over Adz, just pointing out the obvious when you're coming such a long way.
No i dont mind :thumbs
I wouldnt be impressed to go all that way for such little action & fun :doh
Open to suggestions :thumb2
well it depends how far you wanted to travel to the event and onwards; salisbury plain is about 50 miles south west of Abingdon; i've not driven it but zippy has - its many square miles of offroad military training area with quite a few tracks the public can access - often used by tanks and trucks for exercises.
ZIPPY whats the place like to drive??
