Hello guys,

I’ve been offered a car claimed to be 1931 Vauxhall Cadet 2.2l 4 doors – see photos below.
DVLA and similar number plate checking services say - Vauxhall Cadet. But I could not find any other photo of this body design.
It looks very similar to a number of other cars including Bentley – but not identical.
I am using 2 main points to “match the car” – vents on the top of the bonnet and side steps with tool compartments.
I was also trying to match dashboard, but with not much success – looks similar to Bentley, but not identical.
Can you help me please!!

I did try this google search :) It seems to me that many of that era cars were "carbon-copied" - they look so similar that you can hardly find a difference between Bentley and Opel :)

It could be a velox...
Edit... just looked again, no it's not.
There is a Vauxhall owners club, they should know...

Rustic

That's a beautiful car.
Have you tried any vintage car clubs, I'm sure they could help you.
I'm more into classic than vintage cars

I haven't tried anyone yet. Car is in great condition, no rust at all. Done only 10K miles, last time was on the road last summer.
Going to collect the car tomorrow, will check chassis badge for any more details.

By the way, as it's old carburettor car, I assume it can drive OK on modern mis-fuel with lead additives? I know that mis-fuel contents is unknown, but as far as I have heard, usually it is 80% petrol 20% diesel.

Old engines will have lead memory and can be used with un-leaded petrol for local trips, all depends on how much use it's had though.
With 10,000 miles, it sounds like it's had an easy life though, when we going for a spin then :augie:augie
