Hi everyone.
New member, not long signed up and done quite a lot of searching....
Just hoping some of the more experienced owners can point me in a better direction to try and get my truck running better!
I'll try and describe problems and what ive done to now.
Bought car as a non-runner with broken starter motor an leaky sump and generally tatty.
Managed to repair starter and get running but unfortunately doesn't run very well!!
Will start fairly quickly, but run very rough for 10 secs and stall.
Start again and try to keep slight revs, to stop stall, after 30secs to 1 min will idle roughly with a lot of white smoke (street full according to missus!) once warmed up and driving white smoke is much less obvious but will not rev over 3000 rpm, very slow to rev to this, car appears to be in limp mode, no turbo spooling.
so far, I have changed fuel lines for 8&6 mm, as had been replaced with pipe that was to large (10mm both lines). once done could not get to start again, no matter what amount of bleeding, etc. Fuel was making it to pump but not to injectors,
Ended up towing jeep to get going, and will now start.
Read thread on the return valve on the pump which sounded exactly like my symptoms, but once managed to convince the valve out, All appeared to be normal. My valve had a slightly different design with an end cap. One thing I wondered was if the spring could be weakened?
Believe car takes longer than it should to warm up than it should, from reading another post, and fan is running all the time the engine is running. Not sure If this is normal?
Hoping others have had similar issues and can point me in the right direction.
Any advice / help much appreciated! :bow
Many Thanks
Marc
