Looking for a AT type tyre for a T2 that wont do any serious off roading but will be off road most days on wet fields, towing etc. Don't want to spend a fortune. So 2 questions.

will 245/70/16 replace the original 235/70/16 without modifications?

what does anyone recommend? I have a couple of Forceum ATZ that seem a pretty good pattern and are cheap enough to match up another 2. Or would you go for Tecnic Trackers (full set) instead) :nenau

As i said, plenty of on road stuff and don't want to spend a lot :thumb2

ok, will 245/70/16, replace the original 235/70/16 without mods? :nenau

325/70/16 OOPH, they're getting near my size tyres there boyo :sly damn near 35"s :naughty

really, you should be looking at 265 70 16's as they will go on with minimal mods, if any

265/70/16 will get you an MOT fail, because the do catch on the body work when off road. I know this cos i just had to swap some on a truck to get it passed. They leave behind a tell tail rub mark on the streering.

stick with 235/70x16, id recommend cooper atr as fitted to mine.
60/40 on/off road bias, or if can find cooper st which is 40/60
on/off bias.

just been checking out cooper tyres, I quite like the look of the discoverer ST and you are the second person in a week to recommend them, the other is a friend and a tyre fitter who runs his own business, drives off road and had none to sell me but offered to fit whatever i buy!

my quest for new tyres had moved forward!

I picked up a full set of 'new!' maxxis bravo 760 road pattern tyres fitted and balanced on a full set of Nissan alloys the same pattern as my originals, and a spare with a part worn BFG AT :thumb2

I now have a full set of alloys and a spare to put some mud tyres on for fun and bad weather :thumbs
