G'day.

Ive recently joined the Terrano r20 crew as the wagon was more suitable for the future family plans.

Im not new to these platforms, ive still got a D22 navara and i have owned a d21 Navara that shared similar chassis to the terrano.

Havent had her long, but have already done the 2inch suspention lift, with 31's as they are just to low stock.

have almost completed the intercooler fan, just waiting on a few electrical bit's to arrive before automating the fan (boost activation).

have been having fun hunting down an electrical issue and once that's sorted i have plans for a custom snorkel, full exhaust system and a bit more boost and fuel.

Cheers guys, I actually bought her because she was dirt cheap but she scrubs up nicely on the outside.

The inside has the verry typical vent damages and the center consoles broken. I think they tried to replace the heater core and gave up, while breaking lots of things along the way.

so it has a leaky heater core - that's currently bypassed.

The patrol is a friends that ive helped modify, full turbo kit, exhaust, intercooler, backyard tune (got to love the manual injector pumps! so much easier to tinker with than these ECU controled ones).

the wheels on my terry are actually the wheels that came on my mates patrol when he bought it. i think they are just an ROH aftermarket Alloy. My mate switched to steel rims with much bigger tyres, but these alloys seem to suit the terry quite nicely.

I have an issue with the second brake switch. The ECU thinks it is on. I haven't found an accurate ECU pinout for this particular truck, however i traced the wire back and it goes to two ECU pins. I think it actually shorted along the way and i need to get right up behind the dash and trace the wiring.

the manuals ive found show a 4 plug 4 row ecu connector, but mine has a single plug that 3 rows of wires. A pinout for this would help me greatly.

Have been using the diagnostic cable and ECUtalk? ECUdiagnostic software to monitor it.

I notice at idle the AFM reading bounces rapidly from 1.6v to 2.6V.....but when you put the multimeter on it it reads 2.1V ~ 2.0V.

As soon as its off idle and revving the AFM reads solid and to the values specified by the manual.

Also noticed at max acc pedal it was only reaching 2.9V
I played with the pedal and the adjustment on the pontimiter and all i could get out of it was 4V
Acording to the manual it should hit 5v.

it gained some power when getting the adjustment to 4v...so i guess i need to replace it to get it working correctly.

ive run around here, but because there not common the parts are hard to come by & it seems there are two different type of pedal pontimiters attached to these cars.

Here is my 12 inch thermo fan, mounted on a spacer to the intercooler air duct.

Is it Bosch or Zexel pumped? I am guessing Zexel as the Bosch 2nd switch in the UK kills the pump, Rick

I haven't actually looked at the pump, Ill check it on the weekend when im home.

In the manual it says the second brake switch is used as a backup brake switch and the braking switch is meant to reset the car down to 1200 rpm when it detects accelerator and brake switch inputs - in case of a sticky accelerator pedal/faulty e-throttle.

whitch is strange because the car seems to run fine. The switch cases a CEL tho.

well, i know it has a Bosch MAF and a Bosch Throttle sensor...so i guess it would make sense to have a Bosch fuel pump.

I have both zexel and Bosch motors after fording I try and dry the brakes by hitting the go faster pedal as well as the brakes on the Zexel this works but the Bosch cuts the pump so does not, that is about all I can tell you on this issue, other than check the switch for internal grease shorting, Rick

it has randomly cut out on me twice in the last ~3 months. but both time i was just fre-reving the car.

its not the switch on the pedal, shes fine.
its in the wiring for sure, its got s short on the multimeter.
so need to do the wiring trace.
