sorry i have to say this just because their was no one in front what would you of done if soneone pulled or even a kid walked out in front of you because you wouldnt be say that for sure

6:57 am- no kids about, and no junctions, just because you are doing 39 doesn't mean you ca't take in to account other drivers.

IMHO most the 30's around should be 40's. Also the van was parked directly next to a stationery camera, so would've slowed down then anyway!

i have 3 points for talking on my bluetooth and swollowed it because i couldnt prove it at the time because when they see me with my hand near my ear while sitting in traffic so at the end of the day we all do silly things but thats life

Got a couple for overtaking a very slow moving car on a really wide stretch with visibility about a mile ahead (moonlit night) at midnight. Three cars on the road,me,slow driver and hidden plod. Done for crossing a double white line. Dangerous spot in daytime due to heavy volume of HGV's but only one house and church for over one mile and visibility was excellent as it is a slight downhill. Anything coming towards me would have been seen, assuming they had their lights on. Was well within speed limit (100km) even while overtaking, probably didn't even break 60kmph as other driver was really slow.

Quite bizzare that the white lines are there for no reason

I would have thought if the only reason for that stretch being dangerous was the volume of oncoming traffic at certain times, the presence of that trafic would effectively self police ie leave no chance for an overtake

Hang on a sec.........................you knew there was a fixed camera there in any case ????????????????

If I understand that correctly you should have been stuck on for due care with corroboration of brain in neutral :lol :thumbs

Point is,three vehicles on the road ,dry roads, good visibility, wide road. Not really a need for police to be there ,certainly not for volume of traffic at that time of night as it is a VERY rural area. Bulk of HGV traffic heading to grain mill during daylight hours. Recently upgraded to double lines from single broken and I hadn't travelled it for a long time. I think the lines were changed due to HGV's overtaking/been overtaken as it is a wide road and possibility of accidents during the day. At night you could play football on it without much traffic interference. Anyway, should be back to zero points in October.

Hmmm......not convinced then of course the "victim" of "hidden plod" (and why shouldnt they be there) failed to spot them or chose to ignore them and crossed the white lines. hmmmm

Hazard perception or observation skills score of driver ? :augie;)
