CD

Hi Andy,

I have done this on mine when I removed the Nissan stereo and replaced it with a JVC CD player.

There are 4 screws that hold the fake wood in place.
Two down in the ashtray hole, pull the ashtray out and remove.
The other two are above the heater controls, remove these.
Pull the trim out, remove the heater levers and unplug the electrical connections then remove.
The stereo is held in by screws, two each side of the radio.
Undo the four screws and remove the Nissan stereo.
Remove the brackets from the side of the Nissan unit.
Use these brackets to fit your new stereo.

Put it all back together and you should be done :thumb2

Cheers

Steve

andy 4x4 radio swap

cheers steve, i took it apart as you descibed, SPOT ON INSTRUCTIONS:clap i found its been messed with before, as there is wood screws holding the brackets to the radio, and i have to get an ISO adaptor for the loom. thats bugrd it until after the bank hol, so put it back until i get the right bits. thanks for your advise steve its greatly appreciated Andy.:thumb2

If I was you, I'd put a new set of speakers in as the standard ones can blow after a while with the extra power. Depends if you want to take door pannels off though. The speaker size are 4 by 6 inch "oval shaped" :)

andy 4x4 radio

hi there 6x4 oval speakers you say, what power should they be to get a nice sound . i wont be holding a rave in there, but i do like a bit of rock music when i`m on the move, i dont want it vibrating or a tinney sound, i dug a pair out of my shed after reading this, they`ve been there a few years, out of an old rover, and idon`t know if they still work though, it says 25watts max on one is that good. i think i`ll invest in a new pair to be on the sure side. it may be an ageing truck but its my pride and joy `and its the best i can afford on my budget`. i`ll probably run it till the wheels fall off.:jump thanks for your advise Andy.
