hi ive got a clunk when turning on a left hand lock ( painfull you might think) ive been underneath the only thing i found with play in it was the bar that joins the steering from side to side. i believe its called a relay link rod, its the o/s `drivers side`ball joint thats worn, can i change that joint, or do i have to change the whole thing. how hard is it to change and do i need to get it tracked or adjusted after. if anyone can advise me i would appreciate it greatly thanks andy.:nenau

is it not possibly the steering idler? i know mine has play tho haven't changed it yet so no idea how easy or hard it is,

Grease is that answer common prob that is just do both sides while u at it

hi i greased the steering stops and the idler as instructed,:thumb2still have the clunk,:doh i purchased a new relay link rod off ebay £90 inc postage, alot cheaper than nissan dealer at £327 + vat and a pair of anti roll bar drop links £12 since the rubbers were perrished and started to pull through the wishbone.:banghead i changed the link rod first, the one end had about 5mm freeplay in the ball joint the other end was firm no play.:thumb2 this improved the feel of the steering by atleast 75%, the following evening after work i changed the drop links this was a pig of a job, but after 21/4 hrs of blood, sweat and cursing it was complete.:thumb2 tried it out but drove like a 3 wheeled skateboard,:doh so took it to get the tracking checked at a mates tyre center, tracking was off the scale4 wheel alignment done and he didnt charge me, a true mate. now drives like a new one, it drives nicer than my mates 2010 discovery, im well pleased to say the least spend so far buying t2 £1000 steering bits £102 heater repair £7 liftpump hose securing £1.80 radio iso lead £4.00 so far spent £1114.80 thats a lotta truck for little money, ohh and £10 club memership which in my opinion has proved priceless.:clap again thanks to all thats helped and pointed me in the right direction:thumbs
