Mine is classed as an equipment bumper because I have a winch built into em structural integrity of the bumper

It's a bit pedantic of me I know, but if your gonna use terms get them right... :augie

For the hundredth time bud it's not classed as an "equipment bumper" :doh - adding the winch means that the law no longer views the bumper as a "bumper", it now views the bumper as a piece of equipment.

As far as the law is concerned your bumper has gone and has been replaced with a mount for your winch. That's why you get away with the bondage bars as it no longer counts as a bumper or frontal protection - it's now just a bit of equipment on your truck ie. a mount for your winch.

All the above is of course subject to the MOT man's view when the appropriate time comes but I know my Trol passed with its winch bumper back in March :nenau

NOTED! Must get the facts Right.

I imagine Rustic is talking about mine being due in January

Alex, your "bumper" may not be my cup of tea but it will pass an mot. Just so long as it's secure and has no sharp edges .
This one had an MOT on :thumbs

Total tosh Alex :doh
Depends what hits Timmy and the speed it's going, a modern car is designed to deform when it hits Timmy, if it's doing 20 to 30 mph, chances are, Timmy would live.
Your tooth pick would take poor Timmy's head off at any speed :augie

I think it is a little one sided here, little Timmy's parents should be training him not to get in front of moving vehicles, if he is going to do so then his life is at risk no mater what the speed or shape it takes, just an observation, Rick

TBH Alex is really getting some stick here for what could be or prob is legal to use, Alex get it MOT'ed & if the tester is happy with the bumper hopefully that'll be the end of this:rolleyes: But many have over looked what I wrote in post 9 about A bars being illegal if fitted to motors after 2000/1 yet many members have them fitted but not getting any stick for it which I think is unfair re-guarding what Alex is getting:doh
