Whilst I was working on my project truck 2 years ago I bought an exhaust from Milners. I’ve done approx 1o,ooo miles since it has been back on the road on the 1/11/15. This is the rear silencer, sorry for the poor quality photo. You can certainly see where the soot is blowing.

I’m not sure if it’s worth contacting them or not.

I would probably say yes to contacting them, but from disappointed at the low quality of their product. Explain your usage (I am guessing road only :) ) and that your expectations of the product were far from met and that you will not be able to buy from them anymore nor recommend their products in the future.

I would give them some wriggle/saving face room by suggesting and apologising if indeed the product has failed to meet their own high standards. And it's early failure is down to a fault in material or manufacturing.

I know Banshee is laughing right now :lol and it will probably be a waste of time but as the time frame here is a little against you and they only have your word for miles and usage I would say polite but firm is best way forwards to hopefully get any kind of decent customer service in return.

If including a photo make sure that any part of the exhaust in it is clean but not obviously gleaming.

Two years for a cheap product that pretty good by Milners standard.

Low mileage makes it worse due to condensation.

That's why when my Jeep needs an exhaust I will fit a decent stainless one local firm do lifetime warranty. I have used them for almost 20 years. P.D.Gough of Huthwaite.

Condensation usually rots inside out but this is really crust on the outside. Doubtful that Milners would do anything after 2 years so will have to start pricing up replacements.

I’ve been busy this morning so Milners are closed now, have filled in a polite contact form asking if they are able to help. Strangely they have a banner on their website stating all their exhausts now come with a two year warranty. Fingers crossed

I had similar problems with a swb exhaust, after 1,5 years. Occasional use, on- and offroad, and often standing still for days.

Called them about this, on their request sent email with pictures, and same day got offer to replace the faulty part of the exhaust (was mid-section only, rest was OK). I only paid the shipping fee. Not sure if there's shipping fee to UK addresses in warranty cases; this was an international shipment.

Compared to service and prices here in Belgium, I'm not complaining. Was quoted >400 EUR 2 years ago to replace entire exhaust!

It's easy me reccomending a full stainless Powerflow setup when I was lucky enough to inherit mine with one fitted.

It was an expensive purchase looking at the invoice :O but that was back in 2006 and it's still going strong but did need a new flexi recently

Also been wondering about this one

Forgot to check the invoice and respond but from memory I'm sure it was about £400 all in

Quick update, spoke to a lady called Nicky yesterday who advised that as my exhaust was bought early September 2015 my exhaust is out of warranty. However, after a polite and friendly chat she asked me to email photos in to her and she would have a word with the person that handles warranty. Today she’s left me two voicemails but I can’t answer my phone during the day.

So I’m going to send another email advising her and see what response I get.

Piece of luck number two is on its way.
Buy a lottery ticket, now!

Hope you get it sorted at no cost to you mate, that would be a bonus

Milners say the warranty has run out (last month). The only thing they can do is offer discounted replacement exhaust parts. So a replacement tailpipe and centre pipe complete with new gasket amd rubber mounts is £109.

Now then the original front pipe had a flange fitting to the centre section but milners are all sleeve fittings with a u clamp. At the time this didn’t bother me as I was buying a complete system.

So what do I do, I’ve probably got a tailpipe that will fit in the garage so can bring cost down about £30.

Can get a complete system from ebay for £99

I’m now deciding what the best option is, tempted at the minute to get the centre section with all the mounts from Milners as this will be cheapest and easiest solution.

I can get a stainless system from a company about 10 miles away but time is against me as I have some rust repairs to do and mot runs out on 30th. I’ve also not got a lot of time to work on it either.

Well I spoke to Milners Friday and unfortunately it’s a month out of warranty but as a good will gesture they are willing to discount a replacement exhaust centre and rear section complete with fittings. Not too sure whether I really want to purchase another exhaust from Milners as it’ll be exactly the same.
So I’m going to check prices at a local factors. Can anyone recommend a brand they have used please.

Here’s the centre section silnecer where the outer skin had actually disintegrated when my son was removing it.

Well I wouldn't be replacing it from Milners. No point unless you enjoy the work involved:lol
Mines ok atm cos I slid under and had a poke about but we'll see :nenau
Weld hell out of it to get you by, and sort yourself a full stainless jobbie:sly

It does seem to be a bit hit and miss with milners stuff.
My full system is from them and still going after almost three years.
Had to drop a bit of weld on the rear tail pipe hanger a few months back but that's probably down to me and my off road antics:nenau

Thats just unacceptable to me after the period of time that it's been on the truck unless Jim's had it parked in the sea at the beach? :nenau

Don’t think there’s a right lot I can do other than cut my losses and tell them to sod off.

Has anyone got any brands of exhaust that they have good experience with please.
