Does anybody know the part number for an alternator for a terrano mistral 95 plate 2.7td?

Taken mine off to get the part number and the labels missing.

Can't get a quote from anyone because its a jap import and they need the part number.

Cheers Mark

Go on milners website they have the mistral alternator listed £125 deliverd i think i paid for mine.

There's a guy in my town that specialises in alternators and starters and looking at his website and comparing other makes and models he's a lot cheaper than most. He states to be up to 70% cheaper. But only thing is he can't give me a price for an alternator until I have the oem part number. Just wanted to give him a whirl first.

What is wrong with your alternator?
Apart from say.... it doesn't work....:nenau

As there are a lot of alternator repairers out there, they can fix the diode block in minutes, replace the regulator, or even the bearings, most parts are common parts.
I used one in Brownhills West Midlands, for Daughter's Fiesta,
very cheap, and a while you wait service.
Just a lower cost option you might want to consider.

Does yours have the vacuum pump on the back of the alternator?

Honestly, I don't know. It ain't charging the battery, so I got it checked out at a garage and they said the alternator was the problem.

Yes it has the vacuum pump attached.

Been quoted £90 for rebuilding this one and I've seen them for between £110 and £150 new

Sometimes the "New" ones are re-furbished, and you also need to return the old one to them against a deposit.

£90 for a re-build seems expensive, just check that your ignition warning light is lit before you start the engine, if the bulb in the dash goes, it stops the excitation voltage to the alternator, thus stopping it charging.

A by pass would be to take a 12Volt 2 - 5watt bulb. ( A bulb of say 2 watt or even up to 5 watt will do).

Go from + on battery, through bulb, then connect other side of the bulb to the alternator excitation terminal, ( the smaller wire on the alternator).

This bulb will act like your red light on the dash, and so should be on when you connect to the alternator, if it goes out when the engine runs, then check your battery voltage. If ok your bulb on dash or connectors are at fault.

Hope this helps.
Best regards, Rustic
