alternator issue

Hi all!

right i have the 2.7TD and have the Vac pump on bavk of my alternator.... first thing is - has anybody make a guard/shield up to stop it getting so clogged up ot how have you sorted it?

Secondly is there any other higher amp alternators that has a vac pump on bavck so could potentially swap?

Why would you want a higher amp alternator :nenau

If you do not have AC you can hang another alternator in place either for another battery or just parallel them up, Rick

i want a higher amp alternator as im hoping to soon be running 2 maybe 3 winches, spot lights front and rear and 2/3 batteries, im going to be using a split charge system but just wondered if there was a higher amp alternator available?

i was thinking about the twin alternator set up but doesnt help me in regards to getting full of mud and stop working (which happened half way through a local friendly winch challenge)

I've got the newer type alt and it's off a merc I think, anyway 110 amps
Never had any mud issues with it or the old 70 amp one. is it the alt or the pump that's the issue. I just give my alt a good dose of wd40 before and usually after (when I remember :augie)
With your mods in mind I'd go with Rick's plan of 2nd alt and that purely do the winch batteries :thumbs

may be same as some transits , and you can get heavy duty for them.
