So any news on those springs yet?
Cheers Pete

Just had email back from them they are ready to collect, will try to get em this week but it might be monday before I'm down that way again.

Aternator finaly turned up - apparently DHL couldn't find us on Monday so the brought it Wednesday without any further instructions - strange.....

Anyway its fitted now and charging, so all is well. Had to drop it out the bottom with the guard removed and refit the same way. Needed to drop the bottom rad hose too to get it out. May be different on a truck without body lift so not much point me taking photos or doing a workshop download - it could well come out the side or whatever. Job is a lot easier with the battery completely removed though regardless of body lift.

Also refitted the sump guard properly (back been on cable ties for about a year now). Drilled out snapped bolts, retapped and replaced the fittings with stainless cap heads (Allen bolts) all copiously coaed in copper grease.

I fancy a quick trip out over the weekend then I'm going to give her a good clean up and polish - yikes never done that on this one, ready for sale all being well.

Taking things abit far HB.....

Thought I'd have a stab at it with some of that colour restore stuff, see if I can disguise a few of the scratchs. Probably on a hiding to nothing but worth a look - would't be so bad but one side looks ok and the other looks like I wash it with a garden rake.

Do you have the polisher attachment for a grinder  a drop of cutting compond may lighten them up a bit  but as your in the polishing mood you might aswell give the new truck a going over if it's only the 1st & last time

CLEANIN'

"Don't do it" Car cleaning is a criminal waste of time.....AND when you've got all the gear out it'll start raining. Then when you've pressure washed it chunks of paint come off with the mud :? If you start that polishing lark you'll scorch what's left of the paint,or worse still knock your pint over with the extension cable :!:
Then some smart Alec will turn up complaining about the swirls and divets on the doors knock you down £50 and take it off to the mud again
So like I said don't do it just sit back have a beer, and offer the guy £25 off to get it cleaned at HIS leisure. Sorted.
Good luck
