Any checks I can do on alternator? No warning lights on but voltage across battery remains same with alternator running or not. This is all part of trying to find what is causing me a starting problem. Starter appears ok. Battery ok. Ignition swith ok. I guess something is taking current at nights. All cicuits checked at fuse box for current flow. Driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!! lol

as i understand it you should be getting something like 14v to the battery when the engine is running. and 12v on the battery when its not

if your getting the same 12v all times your not charging enough.

you might want to check your belts are tight then clean all your terminals live and earth.

if you are loosing battery over night disconnect battery at night then if its dead in the morning you know its the battery cos nothing can have drained it

if all else fails its your alternator. you could also try your local rewinding company for starter motors and alternators they could check it for you but they'd prob just say its dead to make a sale

does the alternator warning light come on with the other warning lights when the ignition turned on but not started

Yes charge warning indicator does come on with ign sw turned to on but not starting

sounds as if the regulater has gone and the diodes are draining battery : -banghead-
