I would always recommend a 2.7 but I've still yet to drive a 2.4 Petrol, as you already know, Rick (solarman) is the man with those beasts :thumb2

I look forward to your project thread :clap and also look forward to learning more about the 2.4 as we go :thumb2

BTW, I have a lovely genuine Nissan rubber mat for the shelf on the passengers side dashboard

How are you going to strengthen the the steering idler?, I got hold of another steering box and cut the internals out, flippedmit round and bolted on with extra long bolts and spacers, a few people on here have done that. If you can find a rhd one though it would fit easier for you :thumb2

I know lots on here do the steering box mod on the idler but unless you are going massive oversize tyres and rock climbing I have never felt the need, and have and do some serious off road stuff, re the stalling you need to check all the multitude of vac hoses near the throttle body, many will be past their sell by date, and yes do the EGR blank plate job, I have yet to find an EGR valve that was not passing, ie I could suck through it no problem, best way is a thin sheet of metal (tin can cut out) just the width of the two EGR bolts to the left of the inlet manifold, a pig to get to but well worth it, Rick

Well, sorry for the lack of feedback on the last couple of days, but now i have lots to tell.
The last week my free time was dedicated to the Terrano.

Jobs done:
- Replaced left side air vent
- Replaced the lock from the glovebox
- Replaced the light on the roof
- Replaced the fog lights for a LED light bar
- Serviced the engine (air filter, oil filter, petrol filter, sparkplugs)
- Replaced the front brake pads
- Bleed the brakes
- Replaced the AT 215/80 for a used set of BFG MT 235/75
- Regulated the hot idle thingy (now it idle ok when hot) using the "instructions" i found here
- Instaled the steering idler brace
- Welded the exhaust back box
- Replaced both outside cv boots on the front drive shafts

And the most important, i cleaned the garage and now the Terrano fits. Wife not to happy, some stuff had to leave!!!

solarman216, i friend as a Terrano 1 and in the first drive offroad we did, we bent the steering idler. He has 235 AT tyres. So, better safe then sorry.

Must just be the photo angle. My truck looked like it had a great big dent once and that was just a reflection, still had to walk up to it to check though . On the second photo from the bottom of your trucks on that slope, your friends rear wheel looks like it has taken a knock when you zoom in on it.

Today the Terrano when through the car wash (2 times)... :lol

The AC was recharged today and now it makes cold air (very cold!!).

I left the Terrano in the tyre shop to balance the tyres, align the steering and fix the tyre.


Now it's time to take car of the audio... (both music and CB Radio)

Yeh its got a flat spot ain't it, must have been a decent whack to make it through that massive sidewall
