Hello has My terrano 2 SVE 3.0 got a horn or siren for the alarm? because on sunday i locked the car with the fob whilst in it while missus went shopping, after about 5 mins, the car started quick flashing indicators as if the alarm was set off, however there was no noise siren/horn etc...my question is this ...if there should be one where is it located so i can see why mine does not work, there is a button that allows me to isolate the alarm from inside so i am assuming there is an alarm thanks

Righthand side of the dash. I use it when my dog is left in the car. It disables the internal sensors. Look for it in the handbook.

Alarm sounder is off side rear panel at the back. I think. David.

Yes there is a horn for the alarm & it's in the O/S/R 1/4 panel:thumbs mine is also not making any sound but think i've knocked off the wire to it when I had my arm down there fitting a grommet:doh

As said, the Horn is inside the car, behind the rear plastic boot panel, just behind the fuel filler and in front of the very rear extra seat belt on the Drivers side. It seems to be a common problem on the T2's that the lead snaps off of the connector. You need to re-crimp a new spade on the wire.

So the alarm is a horn?

How can we test the alarm?

Lock the car and leave the windows down without disabling the interior sensor.
Give it ten minutes or so and it will go off.
If horn is working you will hear it obviously, if not just the indicators will flash.
Or just get some local chav to break into it.:lol

Set the alarm & stop inside it & after a few mins jump around like a loon:lol the horn for the alarm should go off if it's working but the indicators will start flashing away

Yep...

I usually do it accidentally by lifting the rear of the car up with the trolley jack under the diff, and then letting it down a bit quickly... :lol

Ah so mine does not work, are we talking a standard car horn?

I might have a look, behind the panel opposite side of the jack? (Offside rear panel)

Not sure never seen it yet:lol but as Clive has mentioned often the wire breaks off & just needs a new spade terminal fitting so if this is the case it'll take twice as long to get the panel off than it will to fix it:lol Yes it's in the O/S/R or drivers side 1/4 panel in the boot:thumbs take the plastic strip off at the boot opening that go's over the carpet then there is 1 or 2 screws in the panel then it just pulls off but do it slowly so you don't break to many clips

Presuming your newer trim is fairly similar fixing wise to my earlier version, after removing the bottom trim Sweety mentions, there is a screw at the front of the panel, in a recess by the clip that the seat belt tucks behind. You have to fold the seat down to get to this one via the back door, don't forget to remove it, or the plastic will split there. You also need to remove the bottom seatbelt bolt, and the screw through the clip that holds the boot cover shut, but that bit might be different on yours.

Yep, just a normal car horn... bolted to the inner metal panel, and incredibly clean...:lol
I doubt there will be anything wrong with the actual horn, as it is inside the car, and as said, spotless, so nothing to go wrong with it.

Bugger that, not gonna faf with all that bolt removal, dont wanna mess with seatbelts either

On my MK4 there is just 1 screw next to the 3rd row seat fixing point & you just remove the 3rd row lower seat belt bolt which comes out easily:thumb2 The MK4's Clive don't have a roller blind type load cover it's a folding parcel shelf:augie It's a 5 min job Alex
