Alarm Questions

I have just purchased a T reg Terrano 2 Petrol.Only had one key but that is now sorted so have two coded keys.The problem is it came without remotes and someone has had a go at the alarm.When I unlock the vehicle with the key the indicators will flash soundlessly until I turn on the ignition.I now have a fob (433.92 according to Nissan).but the ignition code sequence does not result in the indicators flashing twice etc.Could this be because the alarm is switched off? If so how do I re activate the fob central locking system? Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks,I tried that first off but no joy,the lights do not flash and no response at all.I think it must be disabled in some way.
