Recently the alarm on my T2 went off, thanks to a moth trapped inside setting off the ultrasonic detector. (must have opened my wallet inside) :D

During the alarm, the indicators all flashed but there was no audible sound. I have followed through the schematic and have found that there is a "theft warning horn."

Where is this horn located? Is it the same horn as the one operated from the steering wheel?.

Any guidance appreciated. :bow

Ive not long done mine and it was located behind the drivers side rear panel, just above the rear arch.I just used a universal horn and fitted it and worked fine.Hope that helps.

...and have found that there is a "theft warning horn." ...

Perhaps somebody has stolen it...:doh:naughty

On my 95 Mav, it didn't have a factory alarm, but has two horns, which sound together on pressing the horn...
These are situated to the sides and in front of the radiator, well below the grill.
I'm not sure where the alarm horn is!:nenau

It has been discussed before, if the brain worked ... :doh:doh could it be behind the rear panel in the boot area... ? I remember something was behind the panel, and not just the jack...
Don't go stripping the car just yet, another member will be along shortly with some more accurate information.

So why do Cows have bells?

Because their horns don't work...:doh

Old uns are the best.

Edit...
Just noticed that Spook had already posted the answer while I was compiling my reply...
Looks like my brain still works then...

As Sp00k says, it's behind the drivers side rear boot panel. On mine, the wire had just snapped off the connector, so a quick crimp of a 1/4" spade, and all was working again.

Thanks guys - great help as usual. At least I know what to start pulling apart now. :bow:bow:thumb2
