Hi all, i have a few things i need some help and advice on if i may?

I will start with the alarm key fob....

When i bought my truck it came with one key and one alarm fob, the alarm fob didn't seem to work so i stuck some new batteries in, still nothing, tried reprogramming it with the 6 on and off of the ignition etc, still nothing.

Bought another fob of ebay with matching numbers etc, tried it and still nothing.

Any suggestions what to do next?

I can't complain to the seller of the alarm fob off ebay that it isn't working because i can't be sure that it is that.

Is it worth spending money trying to resolve the problem or have an after market alarm fitted?

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

When you say "nothing" did the indicators flash twice to confirm the system was in learn mode?

Hi, sorry yes they flashed twice when i had turned the ignition on and off 6 times, then left key in off position but still in ignition, then once i had pressed and held the unlock button and pressed the lock button three times nothing else happens.....

So, no subsequent indicator flashes, either once or three times?

On page EL182 there is a diagnostic procedure for the TCU, it's a simple enough process to go through and it will check that all relevant switches on doors/locks etc are working correctly.
It may well be that the system will not allow a new remote to be registered if any of these things are wrong, so worth a check before digging further.

hi, have same prob myself, except no lights at all bought two fobs one 418 other 433 previos owner converted to key and button start.

I've just done this myself. Took a few goes but I found the three press's should be short and quick. And once I'd programmed one fob it deleted the other so you have to carry out programming all the fobs one after the other (up to four fobs)

That's Ford Maverick though. I did find a site that said Terranos were slightly different.

i.e. ign on off 3 times in 5 seconds and release lock and unlock fob buttons at the same time.
