Hi guys. Received a letter today telling me to get in touch with my local Nissan dealer to get the airbags checked. Anyone else?

Yeh, I had one of those, too. I checked my airbag inflator and it's the newer type, so I didn't bother with the recall

I presume they will do a information request to the DVLA for current terrano owners?

Air Bag recalls

My Chrysler 300C is booked in for a similar recall at the end of this month.

I understand that a number of different manufacturers have been affected as a result of faulty goods supplied by the same manufacturer Takata affecting millions of vehicles.

Alex posted about this subject quite sometime ago now. Not sure if it was made into a download or sticky somewhere on here. I'm sure uncle will be along soon to tell us where it is:thumbs

Where do I find the inflator for the air bag.

it is part of the air bag unit, it is an explosive device, do not touch it, the fault in the units is that they are not completely sealed and can ingress moisture this can cause the inflation of the bag to go beyond limits and basically blow your face off, if you want a graphic demonstration of what they do look up threads posted by me about 2 years ago forget what it was called but it will have air bag in title, or uncle rustic may help, Rick

I had a letter today too. I wonder if the recall will sort out my flashing airbag light the same time?

Had my letter in the post today as well. I suspect that they are being ultra efficient and keen as legal action in the event of inaction, could make the VW fiasco look like a pebble in a quarry!

:lol

Simbok, my 04 Patrol has a flashing airbag light.
Visited Nissan who checked for the current recalls for my vehicle and said there were none related to the airbags.
They even plugged her in, but no codes showing.
It was last years Nissan recall that prompted me to do this.
Still got the flashing light even after the trying the famous key on key off fix.
Will watch this thread with interest

Got my letter today too, say's it will only take up to 2 hours. Our nearest dealer is now 17 miles away, (local is now a KIA dealer) which is a pain. Do they have to provide alternative vehicles, I have not had this problem before so don't know how it works. Do you catch a bus to local shops or sit and wait

Don't worry I have no intention playing with it I was just going to take a peak at it to see if it was one of the affected units as from rustics link it seems I have a 50/50 chance it wont affect me.
