Hi guys

I've read pretty much every thread on this forum regards solving mu airbag light issue.

Long Story short.... went 4x4'ing, negative battery terminal came lose - engine stalled lost power etc - car died... reconnected terminal.. then noticed airbag light was flashing.

I've tried resetting using the button on the door frame as well as the key on off counting to 5 etc and both don't work.

The door frame one actually causes the flashing to slow down ... but does not clear the code. i have also read that sometimes you may need a computer/handheld thingy to clear them out....

However, I've also read that the connectors under the seat might be lose.... now this is where I have failed... I cannot for the life of me see ANY cables under the seats - either one.

What am I missing. I did manage to peer under the centre console and see the yellow airbag connector there, but did not want to pull the console up any further as I could see the electric window switches being damaged (and I have no idea how to disconnect those either)

Could someone let me know if I can buy the gizmo to clear the code (and at least determine if its a fault or not) or where are these bloody wires under the seat?

Also - how do you take the centre console off without killing your window switches - do they pull off?

Thanks a bunch

Can't remember what the process is but there is a download on resetting the air ag light. Might be same as what you've tried.

Only place I can think of with the machine is a dealer if they still have the old style diagnostic machines.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery ?

You have probably tried it but sometimes disconnecting the battery and leaving it off for 20 minutes for the air bag capacitor to discharge might work but if you have a loose connection from off roading then the fault will probably just re-appear.

Dealer diagnostic might be the next move as per previous posts.

I have a constant flashing airbag light to. I'll be watching this thread with interest, cos I'm stumped to.
Maybe the paper clip jobby might lose the code/flashing?
I know it'll be different with a Patrol.

Found out that the battery was moving slightly in the tray causing a fluctuation in current. Resecured and then drove 100 miles. Reset the airbag light. Went and grabbed a coffee. All fixed.

it should be updated to reflect the "closed door switch" method too

The one posted there did not work for me
