When I turn on the air con the compressor does not start up. Does anyone know where the relays are located and fuses. There is no gas in the system so before I get any leaks fixed and regas I want to make sure that it runs.
Cheers in advance:thumbs

Ive got the same as that with mine at the moment but have been told that if there is no gas in it them it will not come on,i think its a safety thing.

yep that is correct, no gas means no compressor run, means leak, means probably not worth the effort unless you have deep pockets, Rick

Not enough gas: no-go, gas to hot: no-go

Oh... that's pants.
Im gonna borrow a vac pump and see if it holds negative pressure. I will report back. :thumbs

Mine doesn't work either, the compressor doesn't turn at all. I've diagnosed the issue and it's related to the belt still sitting in a bag of parts I haven't fitted yet. :lol
I think this belt sits behind both the others, so I'd have to remove them to fit it. Bit worried I'd knacker something so I've just left it off for the next owner to fit as I'm selling the truck anyway. :augie

Sounds stupid but make sure the belt is present

I've heard of people removing them to regain BHP on the Terrano's I think :nenau

Do what I did take the system out and open the windows :lol job sorted, am sure I read a thread on here a while since that they need a lot of regassing so make life a little simpler!!

I might get a bit of abuse on this - but I just refilled it myself with the kit from halfords and working fine since.

I need to get mine pressure tested as I think it will leak if I try to re fill it. How much was the kit from Halfords ?

About £55 :doh You have to buy the refrigerant and the refill hose/gauge... Cheaper to go and have it done at a garage for £39 :augie

It will depend on why it needed gas in the first place, if it was because something was disconnected then all may be well, but if it had not been touched then almost certainly it will be leaking, as to how long a charge will last only time will tell but typically on a hard to find slow leak about 6 weeks is normal, Rick
