Thinking of getting an induction kit for the T2 tdi however it seems as though some people advise against this. I am after the noise of the induction but without the issues associated with hot air from the engine. Can I just change the standard filter and place back in to the housing or would I need to go the whole hog??? Anyone got an induction kit on there motor (is anyone selling one)
Cheers

Ive the K&N filter, fitted without air box.

Dont have trouble with hot air getting sucked in. But i dont drive in city trafic much.

I've replaced the air filters on both of the T2's i've had with K&N in air box ones:thumb2 don't think you'll hear much induction noise from an induction kit TBH as engines aren't quiet:augie if you off road yours you will be at a higher risk of sucking in water. You will prob get some heat soak from the turbo as the filter will sit almost above it so I'd make up a heat shield & fit a cold air feed from the grill

I have the K&N in my airbox straight swop for standard filter
I do not notice any noise

Is yours just the filter rather than the induction kit? Is there any difference. I don't drive in the city either, generally she only gets taken out 2 or 3 times a month. From the above facts it would appear to be a waste of money buying a full induction kit. Looks like a replacement filter is the way forward. I was looking forward to hearing the old girl roar, guess I shall just have to sort out a straight through exhaust instead.
