Can anyone confirm what is involved.

I recently watched rick adjust my offside front, I wan to do the other side.

The black "cap" in the center of the wheel needs to be popped off with a screwdriver.

Once that is off I cant remember if you can then remove the two screws and tighten it up or if more dismantling is required, I e circlips and more covers.

Could anyone confirm?

If you watched and forgot what the proceedure was, then maybe you shouldn't be doing this.
How much play do you have, and are you sure it is the bearing, and not one of the suspension ball joints?:nenau

The service manual describes the proceedure, and involves preloads etc but most of us have found short cuts.
As far as I recall, it still involves removing the snap ring off the drive shaft before access to the ring nuts with the two pozidrive screws can be accessed.
I must admit, I love the fine engineering and simplicity behind this method of front bearing adjustment.:thumb2

Have a look at the following workshop download..

It gives the basics of where you are working.

I remember exactly how to adjust and how much, just can't remember how much was involved to access :p

Twist it round finger tight en adjust about a hole to holes distance clockwise.

wheelbearing

the lock nut needs a 2 pronged key or 2 screw drivers to take it off
that was the bit I could not understand as any car I took off the wheel bearing had a large nut and a split pin securing it

I must admit when I first came across this I was quite surprised how it works.
The Austin Ambassador had a preload of 200ft lbs on it's big nut, and I barley sugared two breaker bars trying to remove one once.
The boat trailer, has a nut, barely finger tight with a split pin.
It depends on what type of bearings they are.

To remove or tighten the Terrano rings I used two blunted and rounded ended nails with a lever between them. There is a special tool, but this worked for me.

Alex... did you notice the link to the workshop download in my previous post?

You need to pop the domed cover off, then the circlip on the shaft, and then the nuts holding the fixed hub on, Rick

The download and my experience was based on Auto hubs, and would also be close for manual hubs, but the fixed hubs are simpler, less parts to remove I guess.
I understand what Rick means now, the fixed hub must have the thickness to take up the space that the brake rings would have taken up in the auto hubs below the circlip, or snap ring. I wondered how this bit would work.
I see why the domed cover must come off before the hub can be removed following the removal of the six allen headed bolts.:thumb2

NOTE:- torque up the six allen headed bolts correctly, as too much and they can shear...
