I've had it suggested to me that adding about 1 part in 300 of 2 stoke oil to the diesel will improve the lubrication for the pump etc. I have a 3L Terrano & intend keeping it 'forever' so anything that helps longevity gets my vote.
Ahy thoughts out there?

pumps and injectors are designed to work with diesel and if the fuel is clean and free of water then there is no reason why pumps etc should not outlast the engine, dirt is a pumps worst enemy, did I mention that the fuel should be clean and water free, and there could be additives in 2 stroke that may have an adverse effect on pump seals Rick

I sometimes use 2 stroke oil when I have been using vegi oil. As I understand it, the bio fuel you buy as bio diesel has reduced sulphu rcontent and this affe, cts the lubrication properties so people put in the extra oil to make up for the reduced lubrication, wether it works time will tell. I have theZexel pump set up.

It's hydraulic oil you should be using to lube the pump :thumbs

I personally wouldn't add anything to the 3L terrano. Spares and work time on them tends to be more, Just run on standard diesel.
