Now the codes are read and i've got codes 12 and 21.

I believe that the 21 stands for 21 Front right speed sensor - open circuit based on the search but what is that 12?

It was quite easy to find where the wire is broken, still wondering what that code 12 is?

12 is just the start code, fix the front right reset your abs codes & all should be good.

Now the abs is kinda working, now i got code 17 when i was testing the brakes. What that code stands for?

There is no code 17 for ABS as far as I know
17 on EML is: Module coding plug - circuit malfunction, cant help beyond that :nenau

How the abs code reset is done, sorry for my many questions but the search don't allow to include word "abs" because it's too short and didn't find topic that says how to do that..

To Erase stored codes ground pin 4 to earth 5 times in rapid succession

With ignition on or off? Tried ignition on and didn't work.. The abs light goes off shortly after ignition is on and stays off when idling but after ~500meter drive comes back on and abs stops working  Now when i read the codes i've got codes 12,17 and 21. Theres a link belove where you can see those codes.

That sounds like you've cleared it to me and then the code has just reappreared and logged itself again, still a fault somewhere by the sounds of it, when the light comes back on, have you read the codes again to see if any have been logged?

That video is after the reset(i think the reset didn't work) and test drive.

Ok ignition on ground 5 times but maybe not so rapid, other method may work is by disconnecting battery, apply brake pedal a few times reconnect battery & recheck codes, if 21 still shows you probably still have a fault. I had to cut about 4 inches from sensor & replace the wire. I believe you can check with a meter first but my memory is not so good.

Code 12 is the start code, 17 is unknown but may clear when your 21 is cleared. Because of the way ABS works it may show codes not necessarily relevant. (as the saying goes, one thing leads to another) Example my fault said F/R & L/R I fixed the front & reset ABS no other codes showed up.

This thing is confusing me, now i got the reseting right and only code 12 appeared -> took the car for a test drive and after ~100m abs light shows up. Then i drove back home and readed codes again and was hoping that there was 12 + 21 codes and i would know where the problem is, BUT no.. Ofcourse first came 12 and after that it wasn't the 21 that i was hoping for. It was the uknown 17 and after that 12 again. So now i've got no clue where to start working for because search didn't give anything for the abs code 17:confused:

If anyone knows where and what should i be looking for i'll be grateful.

The only final advice I can suggest is disconnect each sensor at plug & clean with electrical contact spray (with battery disconnected so as not to give false errors), check abs fuse, check vacuum hoses especially at junction N/S wing.

help

Hi - sorry to post on an old thread, but is there a 'right' or 'easy' way to get a front abs sensor bolt out (RHS)? My Terrano has really only done road miles but the bolt seems solid in the hub and I'm concerned about snapping it off.

Any advice would be most welcome!
