Nice one bud, my braking was a bit funny for a bit but seems ok now, abs kicked in where usually it would not have so maybe one is on its way oot :nenau

Got that exact part infront of me Part number 703377 with 42mm from bracket to tip of sensor.

It didn't fit mine, the sensor is too long and jamms the hub. :(

My Terrano is 05 plate 2.7TDI

Damn it!!!! I'll have to get the old one out and have a comparison, if it's the wrong one I'll give them some grief on eBay

thats the wrong one, same one i fitted, the one required is 10cm longer in length of cable, had to drill mine out so not sure how much longer the sensor is. still driving about without abs as the correct sensors £200 which i don't have just now.
 
Just an update on my ABS sensor - today I made a brass shim ( rather like a brass washer) out of a bit of 6mm brass plate I had kicking around. I don't suppose it has to be brass but it's the right thickness and it's what came to hand.
This allows the sensor to be bolted to the hub offset ( you need a slightly longer bolt now ) so that the end of the sensor is just short of skimming the abs ring. It was too long but now it is held in the correct position.

You will find the connectors don't go together now :doh but if you look at what is stopping them go together, you will find the female connector is missing a groove - just file off the extra tongue bit on the male connector and end of problem, they go together fine.

ABS light gone out and all works great and for only £50 on ebay :thumbs
 
I didn't end up using my new one in the end but I'm rather confused as when I removed the knackered one and compared it to the new one, every dimension I measured was the same mm for mm and the numbers even matched up.

Only difference I could find was country of manufacture and a smaller number underneath the part number which I was advised was a batch code based on Google research I did :nenau

It looks like it was made using the same A+B injection moulds as the BOSCH would be an intrinsic part of the mould. The other detail would be done later.

Which one ?

Hi Guys ... sorry ... mechanical noob here ...

My ABS light has been on for a while, and the abs doesn't work at all ... how do I find out which sensor is faulty ?

Is this forum still alive? I have the same problem that Paulo has, Abs light comes on when the ignition is on and after couple of seconds when i think it is supposed to turn off it goes off and turns on again.. The abs doesn't work at all and need some advice how to trobleshoot where the fault is in the system?
 
Have you searched the Forum ?

Pretty sure this subject has been covered many times over the years have you searched the forum?

Often it’s the wires that break through flexing with the suspension. Fixed my old one several times through replacing the joints previously made.

Mikala from Finland!!!!!

Have you tried to access the fault codes on the car by bridinging the two ports on the diagnostic plug under the fusebox?

If not try that first, although I'm not sure that will give anymore info other than that you have a fault with a sensor :nenau

I've read the fault codes, but it was before i discovered that the abs light was disconnected. Now the light is back on and working. So my next question is that is the abs fault codes possible to read with that bridinging trick? In the downloads is "workshop manual" that shows how to read Engine Trouble Codes, but in the "code table" isn't anything that says Abs or anything brake related codes?

I forget what pins were bridged but have a look at posts by mav96 so yes you can read which sensor is faulty, Rick
