Hi All, well I finally got time to look at the NSF ABS Sensor wiresand guess what.... they have already been badly repaired. Anyway cut a long story short water has over the last 7 years since I bought it got into the wires and rotted em out right up to the sensor body, so much so that one has broken off. So I thought only thing I can do is to try and remove sensor to get it onto my bench and see what can be done. Well it is well and truly stuck fast, the metal plate around it seems quite loose and has also broken now too.

Does anyone know much about what these things look like so I know how it's gonna come out or is it going to be hard lines and I'll just have to take a chisel to it and keep chipping away until it is all out.

BTW last time I looked these were £216!!!!!

PS perhaps I should be thinking about trading it in, not that I can afford.

They are just a metal tube and should just pull out ha ha

They make them out of stainless steel to stop them rusting but the casting that they fit into is made of steel and when it rusts it clamps the sensor into place.

Hi TK, thanks for the info. Well I ended up leaving it in place and taking a junior hack saw blade to the plastic case. I managed to get through to the two wires in there and revealed about a CM, then discovered that the copper wire was corroded in there too. Anyway I smeared some Powerflow Flux on the wire and left it for half hour. I managed to solder new wire on to the old wires. I then smeared a bit of grease over the joints and put heat shrink on top of that to try and seal the joints. I also sealed the wires and sensor with silicone and ran some self amalgamting tape over the joints and where the brackets rub on the wires. I took my time and belt n braces to repair it and so far so good!! next time it breaks it will need replacing though so fingers crossed it lasts.
