Another issue 2005 T2, the abs light goes out when you start it then when you drive away it comes on and does not go out until you turn the car off again. The brake pads are fine, it stops in a straight line, no other breaking issues as far as i can see, Ideas anyone :nenau

it seems to take it's reading from the wheel bearings :nenau

check the gap from sensor and pick up ring as the new abs systems use magnets in the pick up rings happened on my pug 307 as the rust builds up behind sensor it pushed it away so could not get good signal unlike the old abs on the older t2 which use teeth in the pick up ring and not the magnets hope that sounds ok the gap with the pug 307 had to be between 1-2mm only anymore and u get problems had to take sensor off then rub down where the sensor seats worked for my 307.:thumb2

cheers but it doesn't seem o have pick up rings, it's just weird :nenau

Do whatever the man says Planky or its £100+ for a new sensor, and automatic MoT failure if you don't...either way you'll be hyperventilating at having your wallet opened, probably due to an asthma attack induced by moth faeces :lol:lol:lol:lol

it's getting tripped and looked at tomorrow, so I'll report back when it's done, but it is a strange set up, not like any I've seen before, I'm hoping it is something at the wheels and nothing more serious :nenau

On the later Mercs they went from reluctor rings (a slotted gear) to a magnetic strip built into the wheel bearings.

that seems to be the case with this one, any ideas why the light is on?
