wonder if anyone can help;-
when i first joined i posted about the abs light being on- the general vibe i got back was that a few members have had this and is a common thing to happen and fiddly but can be rectified. aint got round to fixing yet as only just had the T2 back after a clutch put in. The light is off and on whenever it feels like it. What i want to know can anyone shed any light(NO PUN INTENDED) as to whats goin on,- when the light is on the car brakes fine and very efficiently( has had new pads and discs), however on the other hand when the light is off the car makes a strange shooshin noise regularly just comes and goes, and when the brakes are applied while the noise is there the pedal vibrates like the abs is trying to work. all very strange to me.
thanks in advance of i hope some helpful advice

Just like mine was when I first got it. When the light is on the ABS is disabled so the ABS pump is dead. When the light is off the ABS is enabled even though you have a faulty sensor. The computer tries to compensate because it doesn't know what planet it's on and the ABS pump starts pumping the brakes like a thing posessed.

So nothing else wrong other than the original sensor, now get it fixed

abs fix

i think you will be suprised at how easy this problem is to sort out 8O .it took me about 2 hours in total to do both sides and i'm no auto electrician.the hardest part for me was soldering the new wire onto the sensor but i took my time and all is well now.be carefull when driving if the abs light has stayed off because when mine did it the brakes where totaly useless :!: :!: .there is quite a detailed description of how to do it in one of the old abs posts.
